渋谷の駐車場が空いてます
最近、渋谷の駐車場が空いています。暑いので車での移動が多くなっている私には好ましい環境ですが、寒々としてしまうのも事実です。最近の新聞を見ていても感じますが、大きな変化の始まりでしょうか。

ボイスメールは迷惑だからそろそろ止めてもらいたい
これ、賛成。というか、ここ数年、意識して使っていない。赤いランプがついても無視してたりするので、仕事関係の方、ごめんなさい...そうか「ボイスメールを残さないでください。私はめったにボイスメールを再生しません。ご用の方は次のアドレスにメールしてください。 xxxx@xxxx.com」というメッセージを残せばいいのか、と思いつつ、SPAMメールも増えるかなとも危惧しつつ。しかしやはり、ボイスメールは使いません。

モバイルSUICAが年会費1000円
えっと、モバイルSUICA愛用者でしたが、ビューカード以外のチャージ会員は年会費1000円かかるようになりましたので、私は極力使わない、使ってもチャージはファミマかKIOSKで、とする事にしました。以前からアナウンスはされてたけど、気に入らないんだなー。
ちなみに、銀行チャージも可能なんですけど、手数料がかかります。銀行だけに。コンビニだと無料で現金チャージできます。

新しい眼鏡をconsommeで買いました。ここはZoffの上級ブランドです。車に入れっぱなしの眼鏡が欲しくてZoffとか安い眼鏡屋を回りましたが、どうしてもQualityが許せなくて、結局consommeで妥協（レンズは韓国、フレームは中国だろうけど、まぁ、いいか、と）。実際に使ってみると、メインで使っている泰八朗謹製と比較した場合、悲しくなるくらい安っぽいプラスチック。あぁ。心がすさむ感じ。まぁ、使い捨て感覚だから、いいかと割り切りますかねぇ。安い眼鏡が売れて、質の高い上のクラスの眼鏡も売れている事を祈りますです。安いもんばっか使ってると、質を見抜く眼が磨かれないんですよ。食事とかと同じで。

サイフ新調
外観が著しく損なわれて来たので、機能的に何の問題も無いけれどサイフを新調しました。（一度リペアに出したけど、全く意味が無かった....）前のは全然普通に使えるので、なんだか釈然としないなぁ。まぁ、この新しいダミエアズールは柄が可愛いから許すか、と。小銭入れはいらないんだけど、二つ折りはまだこれしかないのでやむを得ない。一回り大きくなった。

J-wave/Smooth Air
土曜の朝5:00のJ-waveなんて、誰も聴いてないですかねぇ。自宅で、寝ているとき以外はJ-Waveが流れてるんですが、この番組、昔から雰囲気が好きで。今朝は半分ぼんやりしながら聴いてたけど、あらためて良いなーと思った。この時間の1時間番組というのがもったいない。東京側のナビゲーターのYuko-san、いい感じです。あんまりwebにも情報がないのね。

骨折
金曜の夜に自転車に乗って帰宅途中、交差点を無理に曲がろうとした車をよけるため転倒し、右手首を骨折.....イテテ。人生で初骨折。もう少しで車の下敷きだった。アブナイアブナイ。tdさんの骨は丈夫であるが故にくだけちゃったんですねーなんて言われても喜んで良いのかどうか微妙だな。右手は重要よ。基本的には固定してるだけで治療してないからビンビン痛いし。手術しないといけないらしいが、サッサと済ませましょう。10月のマラソンに黄色信号な感じなのが一番ユウウツ。車の運転ができないのもストレス。ま、雨の日は乗らないけどね。ふむ。

プチ フェアリーズ SHIBUYA
このタイトルだけじゃ何の事かわかりませんよね。お店の名前や製品の名前は、かっこいい音の響きだけじゃなくて具体的なサービスや製品をイメージさせるものでないと成功は遠い訳です。これは、渋谷の東急百貨店本店の屋上にできたペットショップです。自分のメモで、そのうち行こうと思ったんですがあまりにひどいので書き込んでしまった。チラシも一見しては何だかわからない（子犬の写真は可愛いんだけど、黒が多すぎてチョット見には何だかわからない）し、お店の運営内容もよく見えないし。これでは知名度も上がりませんねぇ。大事な所が抜け落ちているよ。

昨日電車で正面に座った人のスポーツ新聞をまじまじと眺めて思ったんですけど「大リーグ」って言葉、奇妙ですよねぇ。おかしいですよね。もちろん、かつてあまり英語を英語のまま日本語の中に取り入れる事がが一般的でなかった頃の言葉だと思うんですが、そろそろMLBって言い直した方がいいですよ。「大」ってオオゲサですよ。ナンカ、コエニダシテイウノガハズカシイ。「大」ですよ。「大」.....

DECOR WALTHER
DECOR WALTHERのバスタオルハンガーを買いました。もうずいぶん前ですけどね。むかーしからバスタオルハンガーをアチコチさがしていたんですけど、まず絶対数が少ないし、あっても妙に安っぽいのしか見当たらなくて。3年は探しましたね。海外でもあちこちのぞいたけどピンとこなくて。でも、昔、リビングモチーフで見たのは覚えていて、しょうがないから記憶を頼りに頼んでみたんですね。そしたら在庫確認に2ヶ月、到着までに2ヶ月もかかった。おまけに、高かった！それが、超美人の店員さんに負けてしまったですよ。ここは、我慢かと....ま、気に入っているからいいんだけどね....
ここの家具はお勧めです。Apple Storeの様なガラスとメタルのCOOLな組み合わせが好きな方は特に。日本には代理店がなさそうです。なので日本の流通が持ってくると妙なプレミアム感を勝手に付加するため、価格が高くなるのがネックでしょうか。個人輸入もできると思いますね。バスルームミラーとか、いい感じです。そのうち、買おうかと思ってます。

■埋もれさせるにはあまりにも惜しいコンテンツなのでタイトルを変更しました。今日も2回聞いてしまいましたよ。前を向かせてくれます。■
COULDさんの所で教えてもらいました。今日は時間が少しあるので聴いてみます。この間、San Franciscoでガイ・カワサキの話を聴いて懐かしい様な、うれしい様な気分になって、ずいぶん考えさせられたので、これも楽しみだな。

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.
The first story is about connecting the dots.
I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?
It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" They said: "Of course." My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.
And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.
It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:
Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating.
None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, its likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.
Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
My second story is about love and loss.
I was lucky Ð I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation - the Macintosh - a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.
I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me Ð I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.
I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.
During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I retuned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.
I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.
My third story is about death.
When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything Ð all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.
I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.
This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope its the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.
Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.
Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

ミネラルウォーター
たまにはtreo 650経由U*Blogからエントリー。私は水道水がダメなので昔から宅配の水を利用してます。ペットボトルは重いし捨てるのがめんどうだし。色々調べた結果、ここのが一番便利そうだった。もう10年以上ここの水を飲んでるなぁ。考えてみれば。オトクイサマじゃん。

ご存知の方も多いと思いますが、Yahoo! Buzz Indexは面白いです。要は最新のSearch ランキングを教えてくれる訳ですが、Marketing的な視点で言えば、例えば、広告がどれだけの反響を及ぼしているか、CounsumerにReachしているか、どれだけBuzzを起こしているか、という指標になるわけですね。Consumerが何かの情報に刺激されて次の行動を起こす際の"Touch Point"として見た場合、もうSearchはノッピキナラナイ訳でして。

Bloglines ヘビーに使用中
前にPostしてから使い始めているBloglinesですが、今では結構Bloglinesのヘビーユーザーになってます。やはり、便利。無料だし。場所もOSも選ばないし。簡単に登録できるし。....とイイトコイッパイ。Internet系のWebサイトでもRSSが無いSiteは確実に行かなくなりますね、だんだん。ヤフオクも希望の商品の検索結果のRSS配信してます。すごく便利。
もう無視できないですよ、RSSは。ホント。

ヤフオク詐欺
危ない。危ない。ヤフオクの詐欺にだまされる所でした。皆様、お気をつけあそばせ。It goes like this;
1) ヤフオクで入札。
2) 落札できず。順位は3番。仮に落札は100,000円で私が90,000円で落札できなかったとしましょう。
3) しばらくして知らない人からmailが届く。「XXXさんが入札されたXXXの件、1位で落札された人とは折り合いがつかず、やむなく2番以降の方にmailしてます。落札された方の好意で手数料とか、諸々の迷惑代を含めて多少負担してもらえる事になりまして。92000円でお取引させていただきたいが、いかが？」（まず、ここで怪しむべき。そんなうまい話はない！）
4) 速攻でOKの旨返事をするが連絡無し。
5) たまたま、本当の出品者の方が再度出品され、今回は無事落札。（私は「あー、やっぱり金額が折り合わなかったんで、再出品したのね。連絡も無くて感じ悪いけど再入札しよう」と、考える）
6) 落札後、連絡を取ってみると、先のmailは全く身に覚えの無いmailといわれ、詐欺であった事が判明。実際、この方は前回の取引で1位で落札した人とは連絡が取れず、取引が成立していないとの事。もしかしたら同一犯人で計画的犯行か？
確かに前回1位で落札した人は最近の落札に関してはすべて「非常に悪い」との評価。どうも落札後に連絡をせず、違うIDを使って2-3番の人をTargetにして同様の手口で詐欺を働いていると予測。
7) その後も怪しいmailが届く。今度はHotmailで知らない人から。「また落札された様ですが慎重に。最近は詐欺多いですよ。私に情報を出してもらえば仲介しますよ」って。アンタ、ダレ？ きっと同じ人か、グループなんでしょうね。（興味のある人はread more↓にpasteしておきましたので見てください）
そりゃそうかも。ヤフオクの履歴は誰でも見れるしそのIDからmailを出すのは至極簡単。偽られても注意深く見ないと判らない。怖いですね。落札した出品者と話す限りでは信頼の置けそうな方でしたが念のためエスクローサービスをお願いした次第です。ま、何を買ったかは届いたら報告しますわ。
一応公開しておくと怪しいmailをくれた人のIDはtaka0713です。新規ですね。履歴はありません。

Chain of thought.
その情報は社内に共有しないとダメです。特に現場に近い人程知らしめないといけない。答えは簡単でしょ。聴かれるから。その人たちが現場でメッセージを伝えてあげないといけないから。知らないとは言えない。
間違っているから公開しない？大きな間違い。間違っているならば現場でCommunicationの修正しないと。きちんとrepに伝えないとよりまずい方向に行きます。
Confidentialityの観点から見せない? アホか。社員だよ。
どんどん血が流れているというか、足踏みどころか後退している事になぜ気がつかないんだろうね。

メッセージは伝わっているが。
メッセージは伝わっているが孤軍奮闘してもダメです。会社として一貫したメッセージになっていない。連動していない。そういう話を聞いて関心を持った人がBoothや代理店Sales repと話して同じメッセージが伝わらなければ無意味です。すぐに忘れられてしまう。絵空事で終わってしまう。話が出来ないならBrochureを用意するとか、メディアでアピールしないとダメです。もちろん、それに向けたChannelも考えないと。順番が違いますね。うわっつらだけで話してると怪我しますぜ。特にBrandingの部分。相当理論武装しないと大怪我します。4 major mediaと同じ土俵で競うメディアではないけど、こういう考え方で.....こういう視点で........って説明しておかないとハナっから相手にされなくなる危険性がある。そうやって売ろうとしているSales repにも説明しておかないとまずいっす。

Bunkamura
BunkamuraのB1Fは結構好きな空間。Cafeもあるし、本屋さんがいい感じ。そこのCDの品揃えも超好み。Minimalもたくさんある。天井が高くて開放感のある吹き抜けのある隠れ家と言った所でしょうか。映画の予告で流れるBunkamuraのCFはもう変更した方がいいと思うよ。イメージが悪くなる。古くさいので。

COULDさんのサイトで教えてもらいました。Konfabulatorユーザーではありますが、こちらの方が気に入った。いいですね。こういうDesignの匂いがしてJOKEっぽい感じ。茶目っ気タップリ。会社のWinでも試してみよう。自分でも作りたい位。

OMAS T2
ちょっと前ですが、買いました。T2 ちょっとペン先が引っかかる感じはありますが、使っているうちに馴染むでしょう。
重めの質感のある軸がいい感じです。毎日持ち歩いてますが、もったいなくて使ってない（笑）
ま、のんびりと。

Sunday Morning Delight
3-4月はね、番組の改編が多いのでさびしい時期です。J-waveのHeavy Listnerなので。Sunday Morning Delightも終わっちゃうんですよ。ちょっと悲しい。勢いがあって、共感できる点や視点が多かったので残念。次の番組に期待しましょう。あー、Switch On New Yorkも終わるのか....LOHAS MORNINGも終わっちゃったし。グッスン。

緑茶でうがいするとインフルエンザの予防になるそうです。口内のバクテリアをかなりの確立で殺す作用もあるとか。なかなかできないんですけどね。

OMAS
Pen GEEKでもあります、私。万年筆好きなんス。持っている中で一番好きなのはWatermanのルマン。もう売ってないけど、今でも探してしまう。しっとりとした柔らかいタッチが最高。今のWatermanは固すぎて好みじゃない。
今のラインナップで言うとOMASが一番の好み。Fでもかなりしなやかで英語も日本語も書きやすい。有名じゃないからね、かなり限定されたお店でしか見る事ができない。機会があったら試して下さいな。モンブランなんかより全然いいから。この↑写真はThe Titanium Collectionです。軸もペン先もTitamium/チタンです。数が少ないので入手が厳しいけど、狙ってますよっ！
日本ではシイベルへグナーが扱ってます。日本語のサイトは悲しくなる位ダサイ.....

メタルプラスは制限多い。
DOCOMO嫌いで au userなので速攻でメタルプラスに申し込んだら意外な盲点があったねぇ。さんざん、電話で確認したけど担当者も知らなかった内容だなぁ。ま、光だから影響ないけどさ。引っ越す時まで様子見。

ヨリミチ
週に2-3回は車で通ってしまいます。ラクチンだし楽しいし。何よりヨリミチできるのが嬉しい。六本木からなので、西麻布、青山、渋谷にチョッと寄って帰る、というパターンですね。サクッと行きたかったラーメン屋まで足を伸ばすとか。イッパイだけ飲んで帰るとか。六本木ヒルズで9時の回の映画観て帰るとか（モットも観たい映画は多くないですが）。電車は嫌いじゃないけど、蒸し暑いのが大の苦手なのでね、梅雨の時期の次にこの季節は苦手。歩くのも趣味なので、たいていイッパイ歩いた後に電車に乗る。で、一人でアセかいてる。何かとメンドクサイのよね。暑がり体質も。

ダミエ サイフ修理完了
LOUIS VUITTON ダミエ サイフ修理完了。ちょっと暗い写真ですが、修理したのは角というか、エッジの部分なので、それを際立てるために。ご勘弁。エッジの部分のラバーがはげちゃってぼろぼろだったので、縫い直し、塗り直し。1ヶ月かかって、4000円だった。うまく直すね。新品だと50000円だから、しばらくこれで使ってまた壊れたら次は買い直そう。
結局はお得なLOUIS VUITTON でした。

ちなみに、それでもカラスとの差は歴然だとか。カラスは約700Kgの体で10gの脳をもつが、ニワトリは1Kgの体で脳は3g程。この脳の軽さが「すぐ忘れる」と言われる所以かも.....だそうな。なるほどね。でも、バカにしちゃあかんね。

NSディスク観察
自分のメモでもありますが。Windowsの不満点の一つに、Folder全体のHDD使用ボリュームが一瞬で把握できない点があります。このApplicationは各Folder毎、Drive毎のHDD使用量を表示してくれるので便利に使ってます。
